Vape cartridges are small, but their packaging often isn’t. A typical cart ships in a printed box with a plastic clamshell inside, a PET window on the front and a glossy plastic laminate over everything. That’s a lot of plastic for a one-gram product.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The good news is that almost every part of that pack has a paper-based alternative that still protects the cartridge and still looks premium. This guide walks through the materials, inserts and finishes we use for eco-friendly vape cartridge packaging, how to keep it child-resistant, and which green claims you can safely print.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What makes vape cartridge packaging eco-friendly?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Eco-friendly vape cartridge packaging is packaging that uses less material, more recycled or responsibly sourced fiber, and as little plastic as possible, so the box can go in a normal paper recycling bin once the cart is removed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In practice, that means four changes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Recycled or certified paperboard<\/strong> instead of virgin board.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Paper inserts<\/strong> instead of plastic clamshells or foam.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Water-based coatings<\/strong> instead of plastic film lamination.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Right-sizing<\/strong> so the box isn’t bigger than it needs to be.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
